Karate-do Union of Singapore Kumite Workshop

KSK has participated in Karate-do Union of Singapore (KUS) Kumite Workshop conducted by Sensei Arie Farkash and assisted by senior instructors of KUS.
 
There were 9 affiliated member-clubs participated in this event, and a total of 37 participants. Sensei Arie taught the non linear sparring techniques in this workshop. His teaching was very systematic and clear. All the participants enjoyed his teaching. Both our members, Esther Tan and Micky Tey benefited from this workshop.

Shitoryu Invitational Youth Championships 2009

Jurong East Sports Hall
4 July 2009

Shitoryu Karate Association(SKA) organized its Shitoryu Invitational Youth Championships on 4 July 2009 at the Jurong East Sports Hall from 9am to 5pm. Ken Shin Kai was invited. Esther Tan participated in 17 to 21 age group Female Kumite Event and won the Gold Medal.
 
On 5 July, SKA also invited KSK to its 45th Anniversary Dinner. Most of our Management Committee Members were present. We have an opportunity to meet up with some experience Senseis as well as the Grandmaster Soke Ken-ei Mabuni during that night.

Annual Goju Ryu Karate Championship 2009

Serangoon Community Club
14 June 2009

Our member Esther Tan, a shodan, participated in the Annual Goju Ryu Karate Championship 2009 on 14 June 2009, at Serangoon Community Club, has won the Gold Medal in Lady Open Kumite Event. There were several clubs participated in this championship. They were Zen Shin Ren, Seiwa Kai, Karatedo Goju-ryu Singapore, and Goju Ryu Association Singapore .
 
We congratulate Esther for her outstanding performance.

Visit By Kaicho International Seishinkai Karate Union, Mr. Robert Burgermeister

Mr. Robert Burgermeister, the Kaicho of International Seishinkai Karate Union (ISKU), visited Singapore on 1st April 2009. Shihan Chia met up with him and exchanged views and perspectives on the common ground in development of karate-do sport. Both parties had flank and sincere discussion on common issues and charting the future development between KSK and ISKU.
 
KSK was represented by three Members from its Management Committee. They were Shihan Chia K.F., Roland Teo and Mark Abisheganadan.
